REaltime visual envoirenment for the theater piece

Helin worked on the audiovisual design for this experimental theater piece at D'haus Düsseldorf. She helped transform the stage into a digital laboratory where custom computers (PDAKs) trained and directed human performers.

Taking the lead on all audiovisual elements, Helin created both the real-time installation and designed the cases for the data collection units (PDAKs) that were key to the whole experiment.

The stage became an experimental space where machines and humans figured out how to talk to each other through emotion recognition algorithms and machine learning.

The PDAKs collected performer data while an AI watched everyone's emotions to judge their acting (less scary than real directors, maybe?).

Helin built the real-time media environment where all this digital-meets-human happened.
